Teamlilit vs Teachworks: one price is flat, the other grows every lesson

Teachworks charges you for every student lesson you teach. As of 31 July 2026 that is US$16.49 a month plus US$0.320 per student lesson on Starter, and Teachworks defines the unit plainly: "a lesson with 1 student is 1 student lesson, a lesson with 2 students is two student lessons". Teamlilit charges a flat €29, €69 or €119 and nothing per lesson.

That produces a crossover you can calculate rather than guess, and it lands at roughly 39 student lessons a month. The rest of this page is that number, and the one real difference underneath it.

How does Teachworks pricing compare to Teamlilit?

Teachworks is a subscription plus a usage meter; Teamlilit is a subscription only.

Cancelled lessons are excluded from the count, and Teachworks bills monthly on actual usage.

At what point does Teamlilit become cheaper?

At about 39 student lessons a month. That is where Teachworks Starter passes Teamlilit Solo's flat €29, and it works out at roughly ten one-to-one lessons a week.

Read that middle row carefully, because it is the one that cuts against us: at twenty group classes a month Teachworks is still cheaper, since Teamlilit requires the Pro plan for group sessions at all. Teamlilit's advantage appears at volume, not at every level.

The structural point stands regardless of which row you land on. On Teachworks, a busier month costs more; on Teamlilit it does not. Whether that matters depends on whether you expect your teaching load to grow.

Do group classes cost more on Teachworks?

Yes, in direct proportion to class size. Because the unit is the student lesson, a class of six students is six student lessons, or $1.92 per session on Starter. Teach that class weekly for a month and it is roughly $7.68 before the subscription.

Teamlilit charges nothing per lesson or per participant. The trade is a tier gate instead: group sessions require Pro at €69 a month for up to ten participants, or Academy at €119 for up to thirty. The Solo plan is one-to-one only, capped at two participants in a session.

So the honest comparison for a group teacher is a flat €69 against a meter that starts lower and climbs with every seat filled. Twenty classes of six a month favours Teachworks; forty classes of ten does not.

Does Teachworks include a built-in video classroom?

No. Teachworks links out to external tools. Its own page says it "works with any external whiteboard & conferencing tools that provide users with a link to a room or space", and names Zoom, Google Meet, Skype and Lessonspace. The Location Links Add-on turns a location name into a clickable link that appears in the calendar and in lesson reminder emails.

TutorBird works the same way, and for many tutors it is the sensible choice. Your students keep the tool they already have installed, and Teachworks holds the schedule, the link and the record around it.

Teamlilit runs the lesson instead: video, a shared whiteboard, screen share and breakout study rooms, with session recording on Pro and Academy, described on our virtual classroom page. The consequence worth weighing is not the video quality, it is where attendance comes from. In Teachworks a person records the attendance status after the lesson. Teachworks is the stronger product for organisations rather than individuals. Four clear cases:

1. Unlimited teachers and user accounts on every plan. Teamlilit's staff seats are capped and cost €29 a month each beyond Academy's two. For a team of any size this alone decides it.
2. Multiple branches. Premium includes five branch accounts with more at $35 a month. Teamlilit does not model locations at all.
3. Low or seasonal teaching volume. A usage meter is genuinely kinder than a flat fee when you are quiet, and $16.49 is below every Teamlilit plan.
4. An established Zoom or Lessonspace workflow. Teachworks wraps around what you already do rather than asking you to move the lesson.
