Print a hundred square (a 100 square) for 1 to 100, 0 to 99 or on to 120, filled in, blank or with numbers missing, and shade the multiples you want. Download a PDF that prints at the right size, with an answer key when numbers are missing.
Start on any number and count on or back in ones and tens. Rows and columns show one more, one less, ten more and ten less.
Shade the multiples of 2, 5 or 10, or of any number up to 12, and the pattern of the times table appears.
Tens run down the columns and ones along the rows, which makes the structure of two-digit numbers visible.
Leave out 10 to 50 percent of the numbers and ask which are missing and how the pupil knows. A new set is one click, with the answers on page two.
Open the free online whiteboard on a squared grid to write numbers, shade multiples and count on, or teach it live with your student.
